Every Home Deserves to be Plated
One of my favorite restaurants is Fauna in Valle de Guadalupe. The food is extraordinary, but one of the things I appreciate most is that the presentation receives just as much attention as the cooking itself. Every ingredient has been thoughtfully selected, every technique carefully executed, and then each dish is plated with the same level of care. Neither feels like an afterthought. Together, they create something memorable.
That's always reminded me of how we approach design at Allito Spaces.
At Allito Spaces, styling is never an afterthought or an optional service. Every full-service project ends with styling because we believe it's the final layer that transforms a beautifully designed house into a home that feels warm, personal, and complete. It's one of the things that sets our process apart. We don't stop when the cabinetry is installed or the furniture is delivered, we stay to place the books, arrange the artwork, layer the textiles, and make sure every room feels finished because we believe both the invisible work of designing a great home and the visible artistry of bringing it to life are essential.
Think about your favorite restaurant. Long before the plate reaches your table, someone has spent hours selecting the freshest ingredients, refining recipes, and carefully preparing every element of the meal. Then comes the presentation, the plating, the thoughtful finishing touch that makes the experience memorable from the very first glance.
Designing a home follows much the same process. We spend months thinking through the floor plan, architectural details, cabinetry, lighting, and materials because those decisions shape how a home feels and functions every day. Styling is where it all comes together. It's the layer that adds character, tells your story, and gives a home the collected, lived-in feeling that makes it unmistakably yours.
Some designers "cook" well but don't "plate."
Some decorators "plate" beautifully without having created the meal.
Allito Spaces does both.
