Senior Interior Designer

Allito Spaces · San Diego, CA

Allito Spaces is looking for a Senior Interior Designer to join our small, growing studio in San Diego. We're looking for an experienced designer with strong creative instincts, solid technical and construction knowledge, and the ability to confidently take a project from concept through installation.

The Role

You'll work collaboratively with our design team across residential renovations, new builds, and furnishing projects. Depending on the project, you may develop the creative direction, collaborate on the vision, or take an established concept and bring it to life.

You'll be involved in:

  • Developing design concepts, space plans, material palettes, furnishings, lighting, and custom details
  • Designing kitchens, bathrooms, built-ins, and other construction-heavy spaces
  • Creating and reviewing construction drawings, elevations, lighting plans, and design documentation
  • Sourcing and specifying finishes, fixtures, furnishings, and materials
  • Communicating with clients, contractors, architects, vendors, and trades
  • Attending site meetings and confidently working through construction and design questions
  • Managing project details from design development through installation
  • Pivoting as projects evolve and jumping in wherever needed as part of a small studio

Who We're Looking For

You're a strong designer who can see the big picture while staying on top of the details. You're creative, technically capable, comfortable on a job site, and understand how homes are actually built.

Just as importantly, you're kind, fun, laid-back, reliable, and collaborative. You communicate well, follow through, are comfortable receiving creative direction, and aren't afraid to speak up with an idea—or admit when you've made a mistake and fix it.

Experience

  • 5+ years of residential interior design experience
  • Strong renovation and construction knowledge, particularly kitchens and bathrooms
  • Strong technical drawing and documentation skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software
  • Experience with both furnishings and construction-based projects
  • Confident working directly with clients, contractors, vendors, and trades
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects

Schedule & Benefits

  • Full-time position
  • Primarily studio and job-site based in San Diego
  • Some flexibility in working hours
  • Paid time off and company holidays
  • 401(k) with company match

Part-Time Director of Operations

Allito Spaces · San Diego, CA

Allito Spaces is looking for a part-time Director of Operations to help run the business side of our growing interior design studio. We're looking for someone who loves creating order, improving how things work, managing people and priorities, and turning ideas into action.

This could be a great fit for someone coming from a larger corporate environment who is looking for a more flexible schedule and a smaller, more personal place to put their skills and experience to work. The role offers meaningful responsibility and the opportunity to have a real impact on a growing business—without requiring a traditional full-time leadership schedule.

You'll work closely with our Founder and Creative Director, taking ownership of day-to-day operations so she can stay focused on creative direction, client relationships, business development, and the bigger picture.

The Role

You'll be responsible for:

  • Managing the team's priorities, workload, schedules, and accountability
  • Overseeing day-to-day studio operations and keeping projects and internal priorities moving
  • Creating and improving systems, processes, and workflows as the studio grows
  • Tracking studio financials, project budgets, profitability, and key business metrics
  • Identifying gaps, bottlenecks, and operational issues—and taking the lead on solving them
  • Managing the lead pipeline, follow-ups, consultations, and proposals to make sure opportunities keep moving
  • Helping translate bigger business goals into clear priorities and next steps
  • Jumping in where needed in a small, growing business

Who We're Looking For

You're highly organized, proactive, practical, and naturally good at bringing order to a lot of moving pieces. You're comfortable managing people, numbers, systems, and priorities—and you know when to take something and run with it versus when to bring someone else into the conversation.

You're also kind, fun, laid-back, detail-oriented, and reliable. You communicate well, follow through, and take ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do next.

Experience

  • 7+ years in operations, business management, project management, or a similar role
  • Experience managing people, priorities, and workflows
  • Comfortable with budgets, financial reporting, and profitability
  • Strong written communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable learning, implementing, and improving technology and systems
  • Experience in interior design, architecture, construction, or another project-based creative business is a plus

Schedule & Benefits

  • Approximately 20–25 hours per week, spread across Monday–Friday
  • Flexible daytime hours
  • Hybrid schedule with the option to work from home 1–2 days per week
  • Paid time off and company holidays
  • 401(k) with company match
